Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 59th birthday.  While I celebrate today, I have made a decision to make this next year one of health and wellness.  Counting down 60 lbs by 60!  Follow my journey and join me in celebrating each and every milestone, be it ever so small or EX LARGE!  I'm excited to share it with you!

Buffalo

Didn't take us long to see the Buffalo in Wright. Just off the park, the herd comes down over the hills and what a sight! Even a stray antelope joined in the evening trek. It's the craziest thing, the antelope roam the streets, parking lots and lawns throughout the town. With babies in tow, they aren't the least bit skid-ish!

Wright, WY was just right!

Day 10 led us to Wright, WY where the buffalo and antelope roam. High school friend, Janie lives in Wright and greeted us with open arms. Lots of reminiscing and laughter and the party has started! It's so great how you can pick up with friends as if time and distance just don't matter. Love it! Marie and Janie made a connection too, as Jane is interested in Sisters on the Fly. An over night in a cute little country park and we'll be off to Belle in the morning. South Dakota here we come!!!

Day 8 and it's Utah all the way!

I think Idaho makes a joke of itself. Look at the pictures from our stop at Dino gas station haha!! So far, we have traveled 823 miles from Oregon and we'll be in Salt Lake for a couple of days. Took awhile to get here...lots of wind and traffic. Even Miss Birdie and 72er are glad to get here
Marie is doing a great job of driving and we're set up for another few days. Margaritas/chips and salsa for tonight. Too tired to fix a real meal. Going to SendOutCards Corporate in the morning. Can't wait! Picking up sister Charlene at the airport tomorrow. Yippee!

Day 7 in Idaho

I'm really liking Boise. Lunch with Marie's cousins, Sara and Caitlin and mil Betty at a cute place called Kneads. Can you guess what their specialty is? Oh so good.
Then on to Big Daddy's Wheels filled with '50's memorabilia What a fun place! I kept thinking that my hubs Dave would have enjoyed it too. Betty and Steve have been collecting for a long time, highlighting their family history. We shared SendOutCards with a couple of leads today. Excited! Topped the night off with great stories and laughter and a few adult beverages Boise style. :-). Thanks for the hospitality Sara and Jeff!

Day 5 Already!

Wow! What a drive to Idaho! Miles and miles of beauty but NO cars or people till Burns. Not sure what I expected but when they call this Eastern Oregon, I now get it! So different from the Willamette Valley. Arrived at Marie's cousin's house in Meridian. Nice to park our little bed house on wheels for a few days. Meeting up with SendOutCard prospects tomorrow. Can't wait to share. ps..it's sunny and a mere 75• here.

Day 4 Highlights

It really was an awesome day.  Our new found friends and neighbors Meg and daughter Annie are just the best.  Looking forward to connecting with them again when we get back  to Oregon.
We got rained on today, hailed on and felt the warm sun on our faces for just a minute.  Road our bikes and decided it was too wet and cold so reverted to the truck. Went to a happy hour that was a a bit crazy. Wondering if I'm getting too old for this? Haha. Met a gal who knows my bff Tamy from Long Beach. It really is a small world. Last night for coffee duty. Ugh. So glad I'm done with that. Party tonight was fun and yes, I did do a bit of dancing! Ready to pack it in and up tomorrow. Heading to Bend to spend the night with our new friend Kelly.
All in a days work. Night!

Bikes 4 Two

Love my new bike! It's been a great mode of transportation to the potty and riding around the camp, back and forth for breakfast, (remember coffee duty) dinner and group activities. Marie's is the '52 Schwinn and mine is a '82 Spalding Blaze.

Missing my hubs

Today is our 38th anniversary and I'm missing David Dear. I don't think we have ever been apart for an anniversary before. Now I just need to get him to check the mail to get the card I sent him. :-). Loves.

Sisters, Oregon

So well known for the annual Rodeo in June and the Quilt Show in July. It's a fun little town filled with shops and treats for the young and old. Our campground is just 4 miles east of town. Bend/Sisters Garden RV Resort is a great meeting place for a group and has been perfect for Sisters on the Fly. The amenities are great and there are lots of outdoor activities close by. Check it out at www.bendsistersgardenrv.com

Give me a "coffee" break!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a coffee drinker. I don't even care for the smell of it. So imagine my surprise when I pulled the coffee duty here at the campout!! Yikes! Me? I have avoided making coffee for my whole adult life and dang it, I was not planning on learning any time soon. But I'm a team player and I put on my big girl panties and did it! 6 AM in the morning I'm making coffee for 120 women and thinking to myself....Cindy don't screw this up! I didn't want all these women after me with coffee cups shaking! Oh and did I mention that I'm also not an early riser?! Getting up when it's still dark in the morning is just crazy in my book! With that I sign off with my drink of choice - a diet coke! Have a great day, I know I will!

Trip, Travel and Tons of Fun!

Trying to figure out the best way to share our journey and adventures with you. Facebook or blog, or a bit of both. Marie and I have arrived in Sisters, OR to spend 4 days with the group Sisters on the Fly. It's been a
BLAST since arriving and more to come in the next few days. These women know how to camp and do it up BIG!
Today we road our bikes around camp and took a few pictures. Need to try to get a peek inside some of these charmers. :-)
