Thinking Spring

Been keeping it simple with seasonal decorating.  I usually change up my mantle or this little black table in our travel room.  How many Longaberger products can you spot in this first picture? My Mom made the gray bunny and ducks about 30 years ago.  The stuffed bunny family was an incentive gift from Linda Rodgers, my Longaberger upline.  Gosh I don't know how long I have had them but o so special too.

This Easter Basket is from 1990!  Each of my kids got a different basket and this one belongs to Eric who is now 33.  See the little purple plant in the basket?  It's a live one and I won it at bunco!  It's call Charmed Wine and is one of those shamrock plants that you usually see in green at this time of year.  Love it!

Basket Swap

Have you thought about having getting a few women together for a swap/trade of  something you love?  It could be clothes, kitchen items, toys, etc. but at my house it's Longaberger!  Suggested by my friend Margaret, we had our first ever Basket Swap at Weaving Friendships last night.  No rules, just some good swapping and selling going on.  Look what I got....2009 Small Easter Basket.  Just so dang cute.

Green Popcorn

I found this recipe on Pinterest and made it for Weaving Friendships last night.  O Yum!  Perfect for March and St Patrick's Day and look what I served it in.  Medium Fill-It Hurricane.  Enjoy!

Green Candied Popcorn
  • 4 quarts popped corn
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar (optional, does make mixture more creamy)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • green food coloring
In heavy saucepan on medium heat melt butter then add sugar, corn syrup, cream of tartar and salt.  Increase temperature to medium high and bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve sugar.  Once mixture boils, add in food coloring and stop stirring.  Boil for 5 minutes (do not stir).  Mixture should be about 250-260 degrees. Remove from heat and carefully stir in vanilla and baking soda.  Working quickly and while mistuemixture is foamy, pour mixture over popped corn and gently stir to coat popcorn.  Place popcorn into a large roaster or rimmed baking sheet (lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray) and bake at 200 F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
